Someone leaves their expensive equipment on my yard for 30 days, I’ll consider it abandoned and sell it.

Randy Hooks - nope. They need to inform me how long it will be there. They can’t just park it on my property, under a tree and leave it and not use it. That’s what a storage space is for or better yet, their lot till it is needed. By leaving it on my property without notice is like a person stealing a car and leaving it in my property. I report it to the cops and after 30 days I can treat it like it is abandon and get rid of it. I have a right to enjoy my property without that monstrosity on my lawn. Another example - my neighbor just can’t park their junker on my property because that’s the only place they have room to work on it. It is a blight on my property as well as the neighborhood. I can tell my neighbor to remove it and if they don’t after 30 days I can sell it. After the same amount of time I can have it towed at their expense as well.

They only have the easement - 3 feet from the street. If they take more such as parking their equipment in the owners lawn, they have trespassed. It’s been a month, the company is using that street to store stuff while they work in other areas. If that was my yard I would charge for daily parking, sell the equipment that seems to be abandoned in the yard. This is above and beyond what a homeowner should have to put up with on their property.

Alex Mitchell - if the neighbor was a lawyer - yes. Also my Mom as I grew up told me about stuff like this so, it is a well known thing for older people.

Dd Dedrick - chill, they weren’t attacking you, there is no call for your behavior.

It wasn’t attempted murder. He was mentally abusing her with threats that he had no real intention of doing. He was not trying to kill her just threaten her, And it worked for years. It wasn’t until she either ignored him or stood up to him that he reacted. And under the law that reaction is called a crime of passion and not premeditation. That’s how he got only 7 years. Her love for her husband is what ties the prosecutors hands. He probably couldn’t get her to testify against him, even to save her life, at the Time of the trial. He probably never threatened the kids, just her and she was so conditioned to it and how that threat meant love she couldn’t stop hating him. The prosecutor couldn’t have gotten a conviction other than what he got because of her and did the best he/ she knew how.

This neighbor sounds like an ass however, there is a law that says if you take care of a property for a specific amount of time (10 years) you can lay claim to it. It is what squatters try to do to take over property. So letting the child mow the lawn, may make it possible for said child to lay claim to this guy’s property in time. At age 20 he just has to tell the court that he has mowed that lawn once a week for 10 years. The neighbor should have handled it better but, he was putting an end to any future problems.

Why couldn’t the home owner go out and let him know that he cut too far and was now cutting his lawn? Why did he have to go to the cops first when he could have saved everyone trouble by just talking to him?
