  1. There’s so much micro-artifacting, I don’t see how people get tricked by deep-fakes. The behavior is different, too. It’s like people don’t know what it means to know someone else. The deep fake of Obama was pitiful, and I want to slap people who fell for it. The lips were moving, but the cheeks weren’t. It was like watching a jibjab cartoon from 2004. The texture of his skin was horribly uniform while grainy… seriously, intoxicated pelosi? You can hear the sound get distorted. Drunk people are still pushing the same amount of air out when they slur, they don’t get croaky because of sound waves being stretched over a longer duration. There’s pixelation around the face, and all it takes to see that is a decent enough resolution. Efforts to stop deep-fakes should keep going. But people should also be smarter and more observant of the things they’re looking at. It’s truly embarrassing. I’m not a god, I even wear glasses. There are people with better vision than me, who can’t see how obvious deep-fakes are.
