  2. Outgunned ? When it's Russians who lose more and more artillery pieces because of lack of counterbattery fire. It's Ukrainians that advance.

  3. Well, it depends on how the side uses its artillery, what quality are the guns, wether they have ammunition for them ... I don't know how Mearsheimer does "true" estimates.

  4. What's your sources eg number of shells? Another thing is precision ammunition lets Ukraine shoot less, sometimes even once, than Russian's carpet covering whole area.

  5. Russia is no super power , everybody can see it. May be the Soviet Union was, but ... what happened in Afghanistan 1979-1989 ? Peace - when Russian soldiers go home, they have a lot to take care there ...

  6. Are you sure Russians can replace their losses ? You can draft a conscript to be trained - but who is going to do the training ? Who will command new troops ? You cannot draft officers and NCOs. Another question is the equipment, which Russia cannot replace.

  20.  @gustavalexander8676  This is what I mean - professors, academics may be good in their field of studies, but rarely are outside of it. Does professor mean average losses? In what period of time ? As even laymen realise, the losses may be different in different sections of the front, differ in time etc ... eg in case of Bakhmut battle I'd expect Russian losses much higher at the first stages and Ukrainian during last part. Another question is the difference / proportion killed - seriously wounded - light wounded (back in the fight in short time)

  21.  @gustavalexander8676  Is it his field of study ? As it comes to APN, I don't look at his videos as scientific work, he arguments his hypotheses and many times it squares up and makes sense (JM walked into minefield even before the war and got blown up, this is why I am sceptical)

  47.  @Origami84  Thank you, I'll look simplicius up. As it comes to Ukraine's artillery - yes, it's getting more modern than the Russians' thanks to Western technology applications, however Ukrainians also develope their own systems.
