  2. Talking offtop. I understand your grandparents didn't have much choice under comrade Stalin , unfortunately ...the 27 million is Stalin's 'style' calculation ( and effect of the gross miscalculation in cooperating with Hitler's Germany before ).

I read again your first post (on side note, it's national socialism in III Reich) and I will rewrite my idea With all the respect to your grandparents and their generation , in the USSR and in the USA , their choice was very limited , and what I can't see is that what is the value of asking the price of human life in number of trucks or gold (how could anybody study it?) .
