I bought a pair of rats from the petstore who were the sweetest things and would let you pet them and hold them no problem just like this. Many years later I bought a pair of dumbo rats from a breeder off craigslist who showed pictures of their kids handling them as babies, but they turned out to be vicious! They hated to be held or touched and one even bit me. rats can be a mixed bag.
