I have been using xylitol for years and haven't gotten a cavity since I've been using it. The one time I finally went for a cleaning a few years ago I was told there was "nothing to clean" and they never see this and asked me what I do. I also use a waterpick and scrape between my lower teeth occasionally. I'm not sure if it's plaque or what but some soft stuff still does get between the lower front teeth. But no cavities or need for cleanings. The xylitol you can just buy a big bag of it, I just melt some in my mouth and swish like mouthwash before spitting it out. I'm sure you could just dissolve it in some water and swish that around too.
