  1. I feel like this used to be true. Now you can easily spend much more making a home meal than eating out. Case in point- last week I wanted to make braised short ribs. The meat alone for the recipe would have cost $30, and that's even after finding slightly discounted meat (at Jewel and not organic). The whole meal would have cost about $50 to make. Sad.
