This is just so frustrating, I hate to say it but the death toll would never have been so high in the U.S. For crying out  loud, one of the 80+ surrounding boats could have just used a megaphone to cry to survivors that they needed to escape! ....And then just swim to one of the surrounding boats!! Instead they just waited for it to sink!
