  1. Yep, this is my main gripe about the U.S. trying to go single payer or at least have a big pool where I have to pay for other people's health problems. The top 10-15 killers in America right now are all related to diet and lifestyle choices, so I don't want to have to subsidize someone else's poor life choices. I try to be vegan, I don't smoke, I drink occasionally, and I try to exercise regularly. Our health is largely our own personal responsibility, and I refuse to pay for some 400 lb person's stomach surgery etc cuz they can't control what they eat. We need a nation focused on PREVENTATIVE healthcare measures, and schools (especially medical schools!!) need to teach everyone a lot more about nutrition,, and schools and workplaces should reward students and employees w/healthy food instead of always defaulting to pizza and other junk food.
