Ha, just watched the video. That's pretty fuckin' cool and crazy, and yes, that could be very dangerous if that steam hit you! I did a presentation on the Yellowstone super volcano many years ago back in college during a public speaking class, and I was so enthusiastic about the coming doom that I had everyone absolutely terrified by the end of my presentation about how we're all going to die if that thing goes off and the fact that it has a high probability of going off relatively soon in the geological time frame! I was in California at the time, and basically said yeah, we're all dead if that thing goes off, mostly by the enormous amounts of ash that would black out the sun for like two or more years afterwards, making it hard for all life to survive on planet earth just as before.
The last super volcano to go off was in Toba 74,000 years ago and we had a major bottle neck in the human race, meaning lots of people died off during that time and our gene pool got a lot smaller and then had to regrow again from that, so it's bound to happen again. That is like Styx says, if we don't off ourselves before then, but I bet we're sill here when the next one goes off. There's multiple ones around the world, but the Yellowstone one is pretty big.
