There are things you can do even while living in CA to fix the overreach of our federal government at least which is making all of our lives worse off. Please get involved in the Convention of States movement. I live in NV and am getting more active myself and want to spread the word to others b/c so few people even know this is something we can do to reign in the federal govt. It's in Article V of our Constitution and allows the states to call a convention and propose our own amendments like term limits on Congress and forcing them to spend only within the total federal budget. Each state needs to pass the resolution to hold it until we get to 34 states and then we can conduct it. Then any proposed amendments have to be ratified by 38 states total for them to become a part of our U.S. Constitution. I wish more streamers would talk about this and get the word out to people who care about how messed up our country is and want to do something about it. This has to be a grassroots action as any big players won't want this. I know CA would be a lost cause for now in getting your legislature to pass it, BUT you can volunteer to help coordinate and activate other people in other states and be a resource for them. I just talked to a lady organizer in Oregon earlier today who also doesn't have good prospects of it passing there, but she is helping where she can for other states. We have solutions within our reach, we just need to educate ourselves about them and then educate others and get organized!

The people need to get together to force better election laws there by petitioning them to be on the ballot to be voted on. I lived in CA for 8 years. It's going to take a lot of grassroots activism but I'd think anyone left there would really want that now.

@hello-cn5nh I thought the recall vote wasn't enough to pass? I remember following it closely and supporting Larry Elder as the new governor, but I heard he didn't get enough votes. Not sure if Gavin got enough to be recalled tho, and maybe they didn't if they didn't have a clear replacement? I heard there's a new recall effort going tho for Gavin. I don't see how liberals are happy w/the results under him either! Why can't they wake up yet?? He's such a clear liar.

I've had that guy texting me sometimes multiple times a day in the last few weeks! I used to live in SoCal but been in NV for 12 years now, but I get all kinds of texts from Republicans all over the U.S. looking for help to beat Dems, and would consider donating to them. I just stopped donating thru the RNC since my money wasn't being spent wisely. I was trying to see if I could donate to Steve directly but didn't find a way yet as I only looked for a minute before moving on to other things. I heard he's not a real conservative though, and haven't researched him yet, another thing I need to do before giving him money. I'd rather have a Dem in a seat than any more RINOs who fool some conservatives who don't pay enough attn that they're holding to those principles. At least we know what the Dems are about and they'll keep crashing and burning.

Yes if the voters organized and petitioned to get these things on the ballot if they really wanted to fix their state, they could and if they get that done they have more of a chance.
