Well it looks like the Taliban are going to be in charge going forward so he’s just being realistic. Isn’t this the third time in history the people from that part of the world have told the British to mind their own and go back to were they came from? To a certain extent you have to admire that kind of fortitude

@altrag I’m not talking about what the Taliban say. What’s realistic is that they’re the daddy now when it comes to what happens in Afghanistan and there’s nobody else that can do shit about it. Unless somebody else wants to go in for another 20 year war again only for them to wait the time out and slip back in again as soon as the war’s called to a halt. They are the people that live there after all. In fairness the Afghanistan of today is not the same as the Afghanistan of 20 years ago and the Taliban will have to recognize that and accommodate that reality, fundamentalists or not. Do you think they want another 20 years of foreign occupation and bombs dropped on their heads and another puppet government installed to screw everyone in the country over? That British guy is trying to make that point without saying the quiet part out loud

@thesnapper84 If you’re waiting on the Taliban to start drone striking US schools, hospitals and wedding parties I wouldn’t hold my breath.

👆forever war in Afghanistan weirdos

The right decision was to have all troops and equipment out by May as had been agreed last February.

@ualdayan hang on. The deal that was struck with the Taliban was that the US would be out by May 1st and they and the Afghan government can sort it out between themselves. Biden delaying the exit and unilaterally changing the date didn’t exactly do anyone any favors did it? It certainly didn’t do Biden any favors. Instead of just clearing up and getting the hell out he’s made a mess of the thing instead. Gave the Taliban more support from people wanting to be free of the corrupt Afghan government. At least if he’d have stuck to Trump’s deal he could have blamed it on Trump when the Taliban rolled back in and the ANSF laid down to them. Instead he left people behind, equipment behind scrapped Trump’s Contingency and Crisis Response plans almost as if he’s looking for an excuse to keep the whole thing going. The way he and Obama lied to the American people in order to keep the whole thing going during the 8 years they were in charge. I don’t give a shit what some other idiot says about it being too soon, that a 20 year occupation wasn’t long enough. Ever ask them what outcome they were hoping for? Disneylandistan? How about just letting these people live where they live?

The British guy is actually trying to talk some sense and inject some realism into the conversation. Sense and realism are not very welcome among some viewers and commentators on this channel.

Yeah no cops were killed at the Capitol except by that Nation of Islam guy

👆war monger

It’s his ability to propagandize and indoctrinate that I’ve always admired him for

There’s money to made for certain individuals and organizations out of being at war. There’s no money for them out of winning one. Ever wonder why Obama kept the war going throughout his 8 year Presidency?

The guy’s trying to speak the truth to the ignorant. Of course the clueless will think he’s bananas

I think you’ll find that American and British forces that have actually fought them on the for the past 20 years frequently have described them as good fighters.
1
@susanteeter5618 Oh wow! Come to think of it, now you’ve pointed that out. none of their fighters are over a thousand years of age either!!!!!! How dumb is Trump not to realize that there’s not a single person or organization that could possibly have been fighting in that part of the world for the past thousand years? (Despite the fighting that has gone on there for the past thousand years)

@ualdayan Well, fair enough what you’re saying about there only being a skeleton crew left there, perhaps it would have taken an influx of more troops to ensure a more orderly departure. But Biden didn’t take any measures like that. Perhaps you argue he couldn’t because it’ve made him look bad. That could have been explainable though. And it would have been temporary. What did Biden do instead? He charged the date of US withdrawal to 9/11 pending a review. Why? And why 9/11? The US end of the deal was to have all out by May 1st so what are you talking about ‘if he had shredded the treaty’? The only thing he did was to shred the treaty!!! Immediately. As soon as he got the chance. Once that date expired that’s when the Taliban offensive kicked off in earnest because all the tribal groups that aren’t Taliban stopped opposing them and fell in on their side against the corrupt Afghan government that the US had tried to install.

@ingodwetrust8195 Well that’s all pretty much true but a little bit of planning and maybe attempting a well thought out mission possibly might not have hurt. Might even have been beneficial to have had a little bit of planning and to have attempted a well thought out mission. Oh well, no crying over spilt milk and all that.
