Biden’s standing up to the biggest threat to Democracy since the Civil War. Asking voters if they are who they say they are. Jim Crow on steroids! Jim Eagle!

@jonathanjollimore7156 How would you know it’s so low if you don’t have a methodology to detect it? It’s probably not significant but why leave open the possibility that it could be

I have a sneaking suspicion that Climate change bills and the Infrastructure bill have the potential to be the most lucrative Democrat grifts ever. $$$🤑

@altrag I don’t live in America but I think you’re exactly right that developments that occurred in the 1950s and made America at the time the most advanced nation on earth haven’t been updated and are coming to the end of their estimated utility. I’ve no argument with you in respect to that at all. Also Trump didn’t address it in his term as President but I think it was high priority for his imagined second term. A carrot he was using for his re-election. However, when I talk about grift I’m talking about how Democrats know this Bill has to be passed so they’re going to tack on as much pork to it as they possibly can. Secure funding for pet projects, add in funding as payoffs to Democrat supporting organizations, use taxpayer dollars to restructure American society and that sort of thing. American right wing media was totaling up the proposed expenditure under the Democrats Infrastructure Bill and claiming that only around 10% was going to actual refurbishment of things that were traditionally considered as infrastructure. Roads, bridges, airports and such like and the rest was to be spent on Democrat social engineering projects and just straight up payoffs to Democrat supporting donors and organizations like, for instance, the teachers union. Also in there was potentially sneaky stuff like government control over providing internet access. I’m not completely sold on right wing or Republican objections though, much as they might deride something like including provisions for childcare allowances for working families under an Infrastructure Bill and other such things like that I think Democrats do have a good point issues like that. I think they have a good case to make that an Infrastructure Bill can and should be about more than refitting bridges etc and can be geared to bringing about a more efficacious environment for American citizens as a whole If it was just that all would be well and good, but I know the Democrats (and Republicans) (Politicians!) They are going to use the opportunity of an Infrastructure Bill to stick their arm in and grab as much as they can for themselves and those around them as they can. All that money being spent and they’re not going reach for any of it? I don’t think so.

@altrag That’s a very neat post 👍👍👍I like what you had to say. I’ll run over it again when I’m sober in the afternoon but, first impressions, I think you nailed a lot of things there with no overreach. I appreciate that
