@jessicarichards8531 Well, sometimes I just pull the trigger. I’m only taking issue with your term ‘concentration camps’. I don’t think it’s appropriate for what could also be called ‘temporary housing facilities’. Would you rather people lay outside on the ground and on the street? Slightly offensive to invoke the terminology of ‘concentration camps’ to a situation that is in no way comparable. Just to put it mildly to you. 👿

No, if they’re wanted for a crime they’re suspected of having committed they’ll be arrested and handed over to the appropriate authorities. If you don’t reject them, and let them walk on, aren’t you letting go free in the world? What sort of grass are you smoking?

Why? What would the consequences of that be?

@jessicarichards8531 Are you talking about the concentration camps that people voluntarily enter into?

My impression is that there are empty spaces in America that literally inconceivable to people from some other countries. Literally inconceivable. However, I do get the impression that allowing so many economic refugees into the US in such an uncontrolled manner is part of a plot to ‘break the system’ and disrupt society. Not great replacement theory but simply to overwhelm the present mechanics of governance

@thatgui88 Well, what annoys me is that such employees are in the country illegally and not not legally . Field workers on farms is the most egregious example. There’s this talk about only allowing the best and most qualified legally allowed into the country but there’s a tolerance for allowing essential farm work to be done by people who are in the country illegally and don’t have have any rights compared to citizens. Manual laborers who graft should have the same degree of access as brain surgeons and rocket scientists and such like. I don’t know why the US hasn’t figured that out yet, unless it’s by design. Why not just give temporary, seasonal passes to workers instead of creating an underclass of illegal immigrants? 🤔 When Trump was President, didn’t he offer to give the children of illegal migrants, the ‘dreamer’ citizenship if Congress would agree to funding his wall? What did the Democrats say? No. That should tell you everything you need to know. Democrats don’t want a solution, they want a situation they can continue to exploit. They don’t give a sh*t about the lives of real people. And that’s a fact. Trump: Give me the funding for the wall and I’ll take these people’s lives out of limbo Democrats: No. We want even more people’s lives in limbo. We only stand to be able to take advantage of that. Disgusting.

@thatgui88 Well, you’re the way it should be done IMO. You need labor, you treat them right. What you don’t do is create a whole underclass that has the sword of Damocles hanging over them indefinitely so they can be exploited economically or by a political class. Make a legal pathway for so called low skilled workers.. Don’t have people being open to exploitation working illegally on a black market. Neither Party in America seems to be advancing that common sense argument because they imagine it wouldn’t serve politically. Instead they seem to want to preserve what’s not right so they can each gain political capitol out of it..It’s not as if anyone in the electorate can call them out for that. It leaves someone like yourself without a voice in Congress or the Senate at a Federal or State level. Overshadowed by BS ideologies . From what I can see anyway.

@seanfl33 Ever heard of the Cloward-Piven strategy?

🤔I can see what you’re saying, see where you’re coming from 🤔 I’m exactly well schooled on such things either but made a decision. Too thin. Not enough to compensate. You’ve put me in the Am I an idiot?’ conundrum too If I’d any confidence, and knew what I was talking about, that should have been a straight No. Am confused now.

Edit: Not ‘exactly’, I meant ‘not exactly’. I left out the ‘not’

That’s a pretty big. ‘except’. Also there’s talk of a new “caravan’ again, in case you missed it.

I assume you’re probably correct. Right wing libertarians are the handmaidens of the socialists to those of us with eyes to see. The two groups most easily manipulated by those in power. The two groups most despised by those who hold different standards.

@sassynana5201 I thought he said, “Render onto Caesar, what is Caesar’s, that ain’t got sh*t to do with what I’m talking about”. Or words to that effect.

Racist.

@ericrobertbradley6591 No, you’ve a shitty prison system. Obviously not the worst (see Haiti, China, Japan or anywhere in Africa) South America is a bit shit too but there’s lessons there that the US could learn from. One of the best things the Trump administration did was the movement on prison reform. It obviously didn’t go far enough, but the First Step program was a straight improvement on the way things were before

@ericrobertbradley6591 It’s not freely traveling though, it’s taking up residency and occupations. And I’ll hold my hands up, that’s necessarily a bad thing but maybe the population of your country have some control over that and not allow outcomes to be determined by uncontrollable outside forces. Just a thought.
