@roberthanks1636 Technically, I don’t think someone in the US is a convicted felon until after sentencing. So that’s July 11th at the earliest. I’m not sure what the standard is after that while there’s still appeals in play. Also I’m not sure you fully understand how it looks to the rest of the world now that the American government and Department of Justice in NY has exposed itself as being totally corrupt and tyrannical.

@ConradNeill That’s exactly how it looks to any other government. Doesn’t mean that the governments are going to verbalize that to their populations. Doesn’t mean they’re not down with it either.

@vestafreyja So in the period between being convicted and being sentenced you’re a felon with no sentenced for a felony then? 🤔 Are you sure about that? This is a mere technicality that I’m querying here but I wouldn’t be far wrong in questioning your expertise in being able to discern such a subtlety. I haven’t passed the Bar exam in America and I think it’s a pretty safe bet that neither have you. Perhaps you can use the term felon if the potential punishment amounts to more than a year.

@jakemccoy sentencing is the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. I’ll allow that’s’ potential sentence’ permits ‘convicted felon’ but Trump’s opponents couldn’t just wait another month before jumping all over it like ravenous dogs? That’s not a good look. And besides there’s still a lengthy appeal process to go through. Seems to be that there’s some sort of political expediency to be able to call him a convicted felon now even if he’s he’s vindicated in the end. Gee, why could that be? BTW is Hillary Clinton a convicted felon for chalking down payments for the Steele dossier as legal expenses when she was fined by the Federal Election Commission and yet somehow Trump is a convicted felon when he wasn’t fined by the FEC? How come Trump is a convicted felon and Clinton isn’t? 🤷

@ConradNeill Alright, that makes sense that as soon as the verdict is read that’s convicted or not convicted. Trump will have to plead his case up the courts under that moniker.

@ConradNeill But the email lady and her campaign were fined by the FEC and Trump and his campaign were not. So how could there be a lack of evidence for her when she got fined by the FEC for her filings and he did not for his? If anything that would suggest the opposite. But maybe there was some other unspecified crime this supposed accounting malfeasance was in service of?

@ConradNeill Playing dumb is nowhere near as easy as just being dumb. I’ve seen it said that Trump’s legal team still has the right to ask the judge to overturn the jury’s decision before sentencing, which a judge can do and therefore that a person is not technically considered a convicted felon until after a judge enters a sentence on the record. The judge still has the ability to overturn the jury’s verdict before he or she announces what the sentence will be. In addition, according to some law professor quoted by the NY Post, Trump could launch a suit against Alvin Bragg on Constitutional grounds and sentencing have to be delayed until after that suit was resolved. Basically it’s not over until the fat lady sings. The ‘fat lady’ in this case being the judge in charge of the trial. The jury was never the fat lady. You’re a convicted felon after you’re sentenced apparently not before. No chance of this judge overturning the jury’s verdict in this case but technically still a possibility so, as far as I know, it’ll be another five or six weeks before Trump is actually a convicted felon. I’m no legal scholar. I didn’t pass the NY Bar exam. But one thing I know for sure is not to trust Google on this issue. It’s not going to matter either way after a month and a bit anyway..

By being persecuted like this? Trump’s the face of a rival castle that is challenging the current ruling elite’s grip on power. Therefore, 🤷 the current ruling elite is all in to stop him at any cost and by any means. Power can brook no rival. Hence it’s been all in on Trump non stop since his shock win in 2016.
