  8. The only thing along those lines I could think of is GLSDB. Those have been promised and are expected to arrive any day now. We haven't seen them in action yet. I don't know if they would make enough of a difference here though.

  10. I don't think so. The attack in Zaporizhzhia was (and is) serious. It's just that it was slow because of all the fortifications and mine fields and now they have to deal with russia's fervent attacks on Avdiivka.

  26. The part in question is well beyond the former reservoir. While it was flooded for some time, things should be pretty much back to normal there. You are right, russia doesn't have strong defenses there. The difficulty for Ukraine is simply getting enough equipment across. There's no bridge and any larger crossing operation is bound to get attacked by artillery and aviation.

  30. Fortunately, Ukrainian (western) artillery has a wider range than russian artillery, so they simply place their artillery on the other side of the river. We know because the russians keep whining about it all day long.

  31. The river is quite wide, so it is unlikely to completely freeze. (Depends on the temperature, obviously.) And even if it did, the ice would not be strong enough for heavy equipment.
