  34. For me (living here in Germany) the demonstrations are being cleverly hi-jacked. At first people were calling for an end to sanctions and a re-opening of Nord Stream 2 (which is still possible). The Unions are either knowingly or unknowingly working in unison with the Government to help deescalate the situation (change the narrative). We are having a demonstration here in my home town next Saturday. I E-mailed my Union to ask if Sanktions and NS 2 will be one of the topics. No answer yet.

  42. As much as I hate the BILD (NATO) Zeitung... I have to say they make some good points here. Germany (in one form or another) has been trading with Russia for aproximately 500 years. The people of the x DDR (East Germany) were not all Russian haters... as our western Media would have us believe. There was intermarriage and interaction on a daily bassis between Germans & Russians....logically leading to friendships. I live here since 1981 and I see it with my own eyes. Sorry Emil... I think you got this at least partly wrong.

Yes, they got their Levis and Coca Cola, but most of the old factories were canabalized and many jobs lost. Younger East Germans eventually headed West in search of work.... which caused other problems.
