  2. 4 older laptops Xfce is better... I just installed it for someone on an old Vista Laptop 3GB RAM.

  3. I just did an Experiment... with 2 identical Laptops (Thinkpad T420 / i5 -second generation / 8GB RAM / HDD) Distros were already installed. Linux Mint Xfce ..... Boot Time: 65 seconds Linux Mint Cinnamon..... Boot Time: 50 seconds (I guess the only way to know for sure is to wipe Xfce and install Cinnamon on the same machine.)

  4. I installed Linux Mint Xfce about 2 weeks ago on an old Thinkpad T420... very nice. My Question: is there any way to disable TPM in BIOS? I notice it slows down the BOOT process. Otherwise everything is just fine. I can live with the TPM... just curious.

  5.  @user-hx7dc9uz6s  Any idea what its called? It's not like I haven't been trying. Right now I'm in BIOS > SECURITY > SECURITY CHIP = [Inactive] There's 3 settings Active / Inactive / Disabled... If I could figure out how to Disable it, I think that would be the answer.

  6. OK... I just got it! BIOS > HELP said: F5 or F6 changes values. Well at least there's no error message, looks nicer, but it really doesn't BOOT faster. At least I learned something.
