@WeighedWilson How'd that turning the other cheek stuff work out for Jesus?

Government has nothing to give which it didn't first take from a productive member of society.

Phones are also a huge distraction. In John's day, there wasn't anything to do except work or play in the dirt.

@hidesbehindpseudonym1920 I'm not aware of any nation that has ever tried private ownership of property. The government owns the land and citizens pay for the privilege of renting it via property taxes. Before we dismiss Capitalism, we should try having a free market for a change, where there are no taxes and the money supply is not arbitrarily determined by an unelected bureaucrat.

I'm pretty sure Antifa membership is a requirement for all Starbucks and Whole Foods employees.

WTF is going on in the background? Tell the SJW to shut up and get back to organizing the kombucha aisle.

@n0wheregrrl Lol, I don't recall anything in the Constitution about pooling resources so slackers can have an easy life. The alleged function of the government is to secure our liberties and defend the border. They don't do a very good job at either of those, so the last thing I would want to do is give government the responsibility for something as important as education or healthcare. That would be suicidal. Of course corporations are going to abuse the system when a central government is so bloated and corrupt. If government was tiny and impotent, like it was until WWI, corporations wouldn't be interested in lobbying it. Government shouldn't be in the business of handing out special favors in the first place and they definitely have no business wasting taxpayer money on research projects.

@n0wheregrrl I'm not sure where you got the idea that America is a Capitalist country. We haven't had anything resembling Capitalism since at least 1913. Income taxes, public schools, central banking, and welfare programs are pillars of Socialism, not Capitalism. In a free market, the government does not set the interest rate or provide deposit insurance. Our government is broke... over 20 trillion in debt. They have nothing to give to anyone except what they steal from productive members of society.
