  2. Jacob The disconnect is that Nick forgets we already have a massive welfare state. Nobody would have a problem with open borders if all property was private and there were no taxes. You have to walk before you run. Right now, he's advocating the worst of both worlds.

  3. To draw comparisons to early 20th century anti-immigration advocates is ludicrous. Government was tiny back then and barely anyone paid income taxes. Immigrants didn't come expecting handouts back then. We have every right to be outraged about the current situation, and Reason is completely tone-deaf to that.

  6. Knightmessenger 100,000 people are crossing the border illegally every month. There's at least 15 million already in the country. It's total chaos and we can't afford it. Meanwhile, the Democrats want to abolish ICE and are opposed to merit based immigration because they just want more votes. Social cohesion is disintegrating, homeless populations are exploding and suicides are at record levels. We have enough problems of our own to deal with. That's what you need to wake up to.
