@The Last Danite We've already seen massive evidence of vaccine damage... Autism rates, auto-immune disorders, food allergies, gastrointestinal issues, etc. Contamination of the polio vaccine with sv40 potentially contributed to millions of soft tissue cancers. If vaccines were so provably harmless, the pharmaceutical companies wouldn't need immunity.

Read the warning labels and you will see how many known side effects vaccines have... including seizures, paralysis, anaphylactic shock and neurological damage. If vaccines were effective, you wouldn't care whether your neighbor was vaccinated or not. I suggest you listen to the thousands of testimonials of parents on YouTube who noticed immediate changes in their child's behavior upon vaccination, including loss of speech and extreme fevers. Why did Japan ban the MMR vaccine if it was completely safe?

@The Last Danite Are you so insecure in your arguments that you have to change the subject to 5G? YOU are making the claim that vaccines definitively do not cause autism, so the burden of proof is on you. I have a biology degree and I know how science works. Data can be cherry-picked to 'prove' almost anything, and there's a tremendous amount of politics in deciding which studies receive funding. The government gets entirely too much money from the pharmaceutical lobbies to be considered unbiased. Anecdotal evidence cannot be ignored just because individual parents can't afford 20 million dollars to conduct double blind studies. You've already admitted that vaccines can cause seizures, which should be enough for any parent to be concerned. The other side effects I listed are not anecdotal, but can be found in the warning inserts of many vaccines. Another common side effect is to contract the actual disease which the vaccine is supposed to prevent. You literally linked to an article titled 'Why Japan banned the MMR vaccine' and you admit that at least one 'strain' of the vaccine was causing problems. Strain is not the proper terminology, but you've already proved my point. A vaccine was banned from a country for demonstrably injuring their children. There is inherent danger in injecting any foreign substance into the bloodstream. This is not a natural way to acquire immunity and it is perfectly reasonable for parents to be extremely skeptical and do their own research.

@The Last Danite You apparently didn't even read your own article. The very first sentence said Japan stopped using the MMR vaccine seven years ago. The article is dated 2019. There is no debate as to whether vaccines cause harm. The only question is whether the harm is limited to the injuries listed on the warning label. Clearly vaccines do not cause autism in everyone. That does not mean that vaccines do not cause autism. It could depend on a variety of factors including immune health, age of vaccinations, dosage, and a million other factors. That's why we need more studies of vaccinated versus unvaccinated children. Saying that we know vaccines are safe because they are used worldwide is like saying we know bloodletting is safe because it used to be a common treatment for a variety of ailments.

@The Last Danite You seem to have a lot of cognitive difficulty in understanding your own article. The MMR vaccine was banned in Japan. The fact that individual vaccines are still permitted does not change the fact that the MMR vaccine was banned. Much of the debate around the safety of vaccines centers on the frequency and dosage. Taking 3 vaccines at once was deemed to be less safe than taking one at a time, spread out over many months or years. You're not going to win any converts by bullying and insulting people online. There are doctors much smarter than you or I who have serious concerns about vaccines. If you think seizures and meningitis and paralysis are nothing to be concerned about, then I encourage you to take as many vaccines as you possibly can. Part of the problem is that there are no two vaccines that are identical, because of the manufacturing methods and potential for contamination. So any attempt to generalize about the safety of all vaccines is completely absurd from the get-go.

@The Last Danite I never said I was a vaccine 'denier' or that vaccines definitively cause autism. I'm saying they definitively cause seizures, meningitis, anaphylactic shock, and a variety of other problems according to the vaccine manufacturers themselves. I'm simply saying it's perfectly reasonable for parents to have doubts and make up their own minds after careful examination of all sides of the argument.

@The Last Danite You're right, I could have been more precise in my original comment, by adding the word 'potentially.' The point I was trying to make is that there is plenty of evidence of damage. Whether we attribute that damage to vaccines or not, is the subject of ongoing debate, but it's undeniable that vaccines already have an enormous list of side effects. Many of those same side effects are common in people diagnosed with autism, such as digestive issues, autoimmune issues, and hearing loss. If you would like to hear the other side of the story, I suggest you listen to a few dozen testimonials from the YouTube channel Vaxxed TV. They may not have millions of dollars to conduct studies to satisfy you, but when dozens of parents see their child lose the ability to speak immediately upon vaccination, that's not something that should be dismissed lightly.

@infinitemonkey917 Why aren't you endorsing the Covid vaccine? Are you some kind of science denier? The government would never allow the public to be exposed to a vaccine that wasn't safe, right? I mean, only crazy conspiracy theorists would believe such a thing. When you bring up aliens or Bigfoot, that's the definition of a straw man argument. If you think the dangers of caffeine and aspirin are comparable to vaccines, then you should have no problem with taking the Covid vaccine. You are correct that correlation is not causation, but correlation is a good place to start when you have a meteoric rise in childhood autism rates and no definitive explanation.

@The Last Danite If you want actual names, dates and locations, check out some of the videos on the Vaxxed TV channel. Certainly Robert De Niro and Jenny McCarthy feel pretty confident that vaccines damaged their children. I don't think you're in a position to make that judgment. As I'm sure you're aware, autism is a spectrum and not well understood. It is not something that is diagnosed instantly like strep throat. It takes many months or even years sometimes to recognize the symptoms. To say that the world is better or worse because of vaccines is a value judgment that depends on your perspective. If you have investments in the pharmaceutical industries, then vaccines have been wonderful. If you're a pediatrician that makes certain bonuses based on the number of vaccinated patients you have, or faces loss of insurance for not vaccinating a certain amount of patients, then your perspective might be biased. If you're one of the parents who will never hear their children talk again, then you might have a different view on vaccines.

Instead of knocking over the chessboard, why don't you find a study that shows unvaccinated children have the same rates of autism as vaccinated children? I'll be waiting.

@infinitemonkey917 Anecdotal evidence IS still evidence whether you like it or not. The MMR side effects list is immense and includes seizures, fevers, digestive problems, pancreatitis, arthritis, encephalitis, hearing loss, skin reactions and various auto-immune reactions. Many of these known side effects are common in autistic people. If you expect me to believe this is just a coincidence, then you're wasting your time.

Bringing up Bigfoot and Aliens is to imply that anyone that questions vaccines is a lunatic. You can call it a strawman or not, but it's an amateur tactic for people that have no argument. The fact that you think removing mercury from vaccines solved anything shows how much you have to learn. The aluminum adjuvants in vaccines are designed to provoke an extreme immune response. Certainly it isn't wise to inject aluminum or mercury, but that's not the only issue. The issue is when you put the body on high alert, it may misidentify certain particles in the bloodstream as invaders, when in fact they are part of the body or perfectly harmless. This is one potential mechanism by which vaccines could cause autoimmune issues. We know that men are affected by autism more often than women and that women have a stronger blood-brain barrier than men. This might indicate that some vaccine components are finding their way into the brain and causing chronic inflammation and accompanying neurological problems. There are other possible mechanisms which involve destruction of the gut flora, but antibiotics may be just as culpable as vaccines.

@The Last Danite I never said DeNiro and McCarthy were authority figures. Why do you constantly feel the need to mischaracterize what I say? You asked for examples of people damaged by vaccines. You certainly haven't proven that their children weren't damaged by vaccines. The fact that you think big Pharma are heroes, pretty much says it all. Big pharma's number one obligation is to their shareholders. I try to avoid prescription medications whenever possible, but that doesn't mean I think Western medicine has nothing to offer. Every adult and parent has the obligation to do their own research and decide which risks they are willing to take.

@The Last Danite Many people would say YOU are the science denier for not believing that fossil fuels are a net negative. I would disagree with that position, but it just goes to show how we all pick and choose what evidence we consider valid. Certainly, the scientific consensus is that man-made global warming is leading to irreversible damage to the planet. Fortunately, scientific consensus is often wrong. I really hope you check out some of the vaccine testimonials. They may not constitute proof in your opinion, but you will at least have a better understanding of why people are skeptical of vaccines.

@infinitemonkey917 Wait a minute... are you implying that peer-reviewed journal articles can't always be trusted? That's exactly the point I've been trying to make since the beginning. You may not trust homeschoolers, but I trust them a hell of a lot more than I trust big Pharma, which has a financial interest in promoting vaccines. You were begging for a peer-reviewed article and I provided it. You don't like what it said, so now you put your head back in the sand. Well done.
