  2.  @slimeminem7402  for fossil fuel plants, electric pumps and/or belts provide the fuel and sparks provide the ignition. That requires electricity. For nuclear, electric motors move the control rods out to allow the reactor to generate enough heat for steam. Solar is the exception because there are no moving parts. The tiny input energy to alter blade angle on a turbine is negligible anyway, compared to output energy generated.
