They're vastly overqualified for retail work, given the years of training and academic study they've put themselves through. All they're asking for is a return to pre-Tory pay levels for a job which has become more demanding over that time.

It wasn't switched off, NHS staff worker hard throughout the pandemic, with many hospitals running far more intensive care beds than usual to deal with complications caused by covid.

@robmule4647 I wasn't 'told' it, my entire family work for the NHS. Nightingale hospitals were spare capacity, as a worst case contingency. Ultimately they weren't needed, but no one knew if they would be early on. Better to have them ready and not need them, than vice versa. Normal NHS hospitals were often maxed out, with far more intensive care beds than normal due to covid complications. The sheer level of conspiracy nonsense from uninformed morons has been staggering. My information came first hand, not from idiots on Facebook videos spouting bs like the conspiracy nutters.

@Acheron666 it's totally valid when they've had a real terms pay cut of 26% over the last 15 years. Either pay them properly, or don't be surprised when they emigrate to somewhere that will, go locum and cost the NHS far more, or leave healthcare entirely.

It wasn't switched off, it was massively overworked due to a massive number of people requiring intensive care as a result of complications from covid.
