  1. The actual RCS data is classified. The numbers released to the public are highly unlikely to be accurate. That goes for any military kit when range, top speed, max altitude etc are quoted.

  6. They're not, a LO aircraft can still get far closer than a non-LO aircraft. That can be incredibly useful, even if all they're doing is dropping stand-off weapons

  7. Russian aircraft have primarily been firing stand-off weapons from the safety of their own airspace, which makes perfect sense. Why risk airframes when you don't need to? Therefore, there's no need to put hours on the airframe of your latest jet if another workhorse of the fleet can do the same job. The sensible thing would be keeping them from prying eyes/sensors so NATO can't get much data from them.

  9. That's why emissions are strictly controlled, and data links like MADL exist. Aircraft don't emit unless they absolutely need to.
