Such a marvelous landscape of mountain range and natural beauty 😍😍 I've known about Mêdog for a while thanks to my own curiosity, having come across this curious little town by chance from exploring the Maps app at first. Then, I come to learn that this was the last rural town in China to receive a complete and functional roadway access in 2013, after previously being virtually inaccessible by everyone else on regular basis 😳😳 It's also one of the last towns in China to have been lifted out of abject poverty. I saw from different videos beforehand, the infrastructure of the town center itself and it's surprisingly modern. Esp. when you consider the location and the proximity of the place, even from Lhasa 😳😲

Haha, I actually watched the Atlas Explore China vlog version in advance. Was surprised to see your face behind the car seat, but it was a really cool collab😆 Now, I'm going to watch your POV this time 🥰

Why would you want to ask people about the 14th Dalai Lama in Tibet tho, esp. in such a remote locale like this?

I have watched another quite recent livestream in this little Chinese border town by an Indonesian-Mainlander couple, about three months ago. They didn't cross the border yet because they're currently making overlanding contents across China and decided to comtinue their trip across the G219 road, but they happened to come across and were able to stream inside a local fair near the border area at nightime. The scene was very lively at the time, locals were selling various street foods, clothings, merchandises and other goods. Glad to find you also made a content in this area and managed to document your cross-border experience👏👍 Also, Happy Chinese New Year 2024 🙏🐲

@rayli5396 Very true. He's only nominally famous elsewhere outside China, particularly in India where he's currently residing in and in the West. Also, it's been 65 years since he went into exile in Dharamshala, there must be a significant generational gap as most Tibetans of the more recent generation cohorts in Tibet are most likely feeling so indifferent about him.
