  1.  @DaedalusR  Sorry but you can never make a grounded and consistent franchise based on an idea of quasi-realistic monster world. The whole Monsterverse franchise going off the rails from the "realistic" disaster drama of the first movie only goes to show their commitment to not only respects the legacy of the original Godzilla franchise itself but also reliving it in today's perspective. It's just what they are and even Guillermo Del Toro himself has been loving what the franchise has become so far (and you would probably argue Pacific Rim is a better movie than the whole Monsterverse itself)
