@lengthao8424 When I read the news that China's on track to develop its first indigenous 5nm chip quite recently, I can't help but having goosebumps about it😆

@standingalone001 I don't think it can be boiled down into specific issue. The issue re:cross-strait situation is mainly to artificially ramp-up military tension on both sides, the chip shortage itself isn't the major one. China could still possibly buy alternative model in the market and do reverse engineering but Taiwan, south Korea and Japan can't just offshoring their plants from China to US. Not least because of the latest patent law which will enforce foreign company to disclose complete information of their industrial operation to the government, but also because transfering the manufacturing sectors didn't just happen overnight and wouldn't take immediate effect.

Like I said in another video, Biden continued Trump's policy and raised them to eleven. He's never a "democrat" in the idealist sense but a perfect paradigm of American hawk design in the contemporary era. He's a true conservative mind deep inside beneath the "progressive" facade, so it's naive to think the Republicans will ever present themselves as his antithesis. They merely maintain the status quo for rivalry sake but they know Biden's capable of carrying core neocon agenda more than they could ever hope from Trump, that's why they keep on pressuring him to undertake the most aggressive response over their supposed adversaries.

@standingalone001 Like I said, the Chinese government has proposed new patent law (in addition to the existing ones) which will required foreign company in China to disclose their information of their R&Ds, blueprints and other industry-related operation. I haven't keep an update of it to be frank but the law has been drafted as early as June so I suppose it should've been put into effect by now. And unlike the US counterpart, this law is aimed to bring up transparency among foreign firms and to make it easier to transfer tech & knowledge. Therefore, foreign private firms are obliged to disclose all necessary information to the government or else, they'll face repercussions.

@user-ex7qx4pv2u I don't get what you're trying to ask here

@user-ex7qx4pv2u Then what's with the reply? You're making incoherent point and I don't get it.

@user-ex7qx4pv2u No, you just make yourself sounds like you need to read more from the dictionary. You knew I wasn't meant that, don't embarrass yourself here or piss somebody else off please?

@standingalone001 I think it should apply to the Taiwanese chipmakers too outside the One China principle. I'm not so sure, maybe the law hasn't taken into effects yet or Taiwan's unique political position allow them to exploit certain loopholes, or it's already going on behind the scenes. We don't know for sure, but I'm convinced both Japan and south Korea will likely become the most affected by this law.
