Why bother moving to Germany from England? What's the big upgrade? But if you are going to move there you should learn German. It's pretty obvious. When he says the Germans come off like pricks it probably has a lot to do with them not having any subtlety in their Engliah because it isn't their language.

@SeverityOne How does the EU matter to an Englishman who doesn't want to learn another language? You can still go to Europe on a vacation. Germany is still crowded just like England is. It was better before the EU because a British citizen could move freely to Australia, Canada or New Zealand where there is an actual qualitative difference.

@SeverityOne You're right I didn't watch the whole thing. It's just another one of these people that move somewhere and then complain about it because they didn't learn the language and then start splitting hairs on how different the people are as some sort of excuse why they can't make friends. Whatever wasn't working in England isn't working in Germany but now he's got the added difficulty of not being able to speak.

@mcarlsson74 I can't see it being that hard to overcome if you could speak German and were likeable. It's not like the English are anywhere near the worst behaved outsiders in Germany.

@mcarlsson74 Are there lots and lots of English people in this area? I could see that annoying the locals and making them dismissive. Or is it that there are lots of outsiders in general and the English are the only ones they feel safe picking on because of racism laws and what not?

@McGhinch That would piss me off too. At least these Americans etc. aren't running around raping and murdering people though like Merkel's pets have been.
