@JamesKerLindsay Yes I did. You showed how much more complex it is than they let on. They want their readers to assume that people are rioting because China bad, Taiwan good. Then the reader comes away with a negative impression of China. It dovetails nicely with the diplomatic boycott of the Olympics. They aren't going to say that people are mainly pissed off from getting flooded with Chinese people and them buying everything up. If they did that then they might give people in western countries ideas that they should be rioting too.

@JamesKerLindsay The idea that a bunch of Pacific islanders would riot solely over diplomatic relations is retarded. This is the garbage the news media tries to feed us.

@JamesKerLindsay Yeah. It could look that way I guess. And there's more to it than what I just said too. That sort of discontent is going to arise in political factions between haves and have nots. It could also be exploited by outside forces as well. Someone somewhere must think it's important if they see fit to make international news out of it. A lot of things in the world have been ignored (especially protests and riots) for the last two years so I find it odd that The Solomon Islands gets this sort of attention.
