@anatolydyatlov963 I know he has a degree but it's not as though he's ever been actively involved in the field. Even still you have guys like Michio Kaku that swore up and down that superstring theory was the only game in town because that was his niche. As far as I can see much of astrophysics and physics in general has been a dead end for over 50 years. The math involved is so exotic and complex so you either take their word for it or you judge the messenger or maybe ask for some solid results.

 @anatolydyatlov963 They sound pretty confident when you see them on documentaries. Neil DeGrasse especially although I doubt he's an expert in anything.
