@EconLessons Maybe a dose of realism is that you can't put the whole world under your thumb forever. Especially not if they have as many nukes as you do. If Russia wants to beat up protestors or invade the country next door what's it to you? So what if they're poor? They will not give up and they want it a lot more than you do. The Germans kicked their asses initially but they beat them eventually after much hardship. They beat Napoleon by burning down Moscow. The Ukrainians probably have the same mentality but they just don't have enough bodies or equipment to win. It's simple math. 150 million Russians vs 40 million pseudo-Russians.

If you guys are so smart and you think so poorly of Americans then maybe you should handle Russia by yourselves.

@arnesbeganovic Good. So quit whining and leave Americans to worry about their own problems.

@beatreuteler The question isn't whether Americans can afford it. The question is how does it benefit them to be a white knight for a bunch of stuck up Europeans who insult them constantly and won't pay for their own defense? That's not a Russian talking point That's an American one. Russia is no threat to the United States whatsoever provided we don't trade nukes with them.

@beatreuteler Also. Comparing anyone who disagrees with you to a stone age primitive isn't a great way to win anyone over to your cause.

@melolonthamelolontha9099 The video is all about how Europeans know stuff that Americans don't know so Americans should listen to them. The point of the video is stupid because any middle aged American or older grew up hating Russia and if they missed that time they have been subjected to an anti Russia media campaign for the last ten years. Americans have far bigger problems to worry about like their own border.

@themeiafy I am calling them primitive. Besides. The viruses had already had their effect long before the English got to North America. They spread from Columbus in 1492 through the Americas. Mexico was conquered in 1520. The Inca empire was conquered in 1532. Jamestown was in 1607. The analogy is stupid because the Seminole were simply outmatched technologically and had no hope of winning. Also Russia is not attempting to conquer the US nor could they so there is no parallel here whatsoever. To top it off this guy can't even pronounce the name of the chief properly.

@themeiafy Well France helped out a bit early on in the US' development and Spain got the ball rolling and teed up some nice juicy territories for the US to take over and a bunch of settlers and immigrants came from Europe at large but since ww2 I think the only Europeans who had much impact were the German rocket scientists. Britain has been quite useful in the past as an ally but that's not really Europe in my book and you guys hate them as much as you hate Americans in spite of them saving Europe from the moustache man. But the US has no need for Europe and China can't conquer the US either by the way. Sadly your type of fear mongering is more popular in Washington and Europe while both refuse to protect themselves from wave after wave of human garbage which is by far the biggest threat to the civilized nations of the world. That needs to change so in the meantime Russia and China are the least of our worries.
1
@themeiafy That stuff is all nice but if it comes at the cost of trillions of dollars of military commitments then it isn't worth it.
1
@themeiafy Name me one thing that Europe has that the US doesn't have or can't get elsewhere.
1
They say that because they know what Russia was like and Ukraine is very similar.
