Look up the Viz comic Suicidal Sid when he goes to a Doctor Who convention. If you can find it.

He's right but the same is true for mobster movies.
4
Haha. Hilarious. You're the millionth person to use that unfunny joke.

@bartsullivan4866 She said it's like a book. Not that she was looking for a book.

@joshop3093 Well his last one was horrible. He's not very versatile either. But the point is that gangster movies have become boring. It never got as silly as the superhero thing by any means but any genre can get stale.
2
@kg-vq9gg Why not just do a show about someone other than Davros then?
2
Funny enough Conquest of the Planet of the Apes is pretty on the nose about race riots.
2
Ray Stevenson.

They should have had seal like animals that the humans bash over the head just to include Canada.
1
Rise is the best of the last three.
1
I feel like it's sort of in the league of Jumanji:Welcome to the Jungle. I haven't seen it but that's the impression I get from reviews.
1
I hate that in movie reviews. They always tell you what happens.
1
Fallout is good but this isn't? Okay. Fallout was entertaining slop I guess but I fail to see how it's in the same league as Kingdom.
1
@MidlifeCrisisJoe Even with the fiction this story is pretty boring.
1
@MidlifeCrisisJoe Not just that but even adapting a Japanese work can't be done too faithfully or it will lose American audiences. I've seen a synopsis of the original comic of Edge of Tomorrow/Live, Die, Repeat and I can promise you the Japanese version of it would have bombed. There are just things that we either don't get or we find superfluous to the story that happen in their style of storytelling.
1
Watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the subsequent movies in the trilogy to find out.
1
Not really no.
1
Sounds like this movie is pushing the message making the British cartoonishly evil.
1
@josueperez5381 It is okay though. It is well shot and the script is tight enough but it's just kind of flat. The jokes are not in any way funny. Maybe you have to be a D&D player to properly enjoy it though.
1
@jaredgilmore3102 Yeah. I guess I was kind of thinking it would be like the Jumanji movie that was somewhat amusing. I liked Chris Pine. He's got charisma. I think the jokes were maybe something you'd get more if you played D and D which I never have. I know very little about it other than it's some thing from the 80s that people used to do. I'm just not the right audience for it.
1
@Defaultyboi-fr4mz Haven't seen most of them but I do not get the fuss over Godzilla Minus One. If this movie is poorly paced then I don't know how anyone could like Godzilla Minus One. That movie dragged and got pretty cheesy.Would have been very good with some editing. This movie here at least doesn't repeat things ad nauseum in the way that Minus One did..
1
@Defaultyboi-fr4mz I won't shit all over the movie. It was amazing what they did for 15 million dollars. They must have worked the effects house to death. It's the guy repeatedly crying like a bitch about not being the real dad and how he was a coward. The setup was good. The feels were there but they just beat you over the head with it. Totally unnecessary to have three four or five scenes repeating something already well established. I've seen it in other Japanese movies so maybe it's the Japanese equivalent of an overly long guitar solo. I'm not sure but it detracted from the movie in a big way.
1
@atlas3556 He had many terriber shame for sure. I just had that gathered in the initial setup of the movie. I didn't need five instances of him blubbering over it.
1
@atlas3556 Yeah. I guess. I just found it tiresome. It didn't help that it had strong similiarities with another Japanese movie I'd seen about a kamikaze pilot who pussied out and was dealing with the shame of it which also repeated dramatic scenes ad nauseum.
1
@atlas3556 I like my movies nice and lean.
1
Rogue One looked good too but it sucked just like this one.
1
@kurtbeck3400 You need a bong out back by the dumpster or a whippet.
1
I always thought of Davros as being a mad scientist half Dalek ruler of the Daleks. I didn't think of him as a cripple but more like an empty husk of a man barely kept alive by his own inventions.
1
I don't see the fuss about this show at all. It started off strong but it became very tedious. It was all "Oh no. We can't do that now because of Japanese customs and stuff." Maybe that's what Japan was really like. I don't know but it doesn't make for compelling storytelling.
1
@CysgodAstua This one is better than all but Rise, Dawn and 1968.
1
He's off his rocker if he approves of some of the movies he does and doesn't like those movies.

She isn't the protagonist.
