  9. Hippity. Justin Bieber is not part of this discussion. A better example would be Nickelback. Yes they blow. Popularity is not necessarily a measure of talent. But these hip fans are calling them great. Great. Led Zeppelin is a great band. Can you imagine a scenario where Led Zeppelin didnt have at least one hit worldwide? Or Tom Petty to be topical here. And the hip had it easier than most in getting their music out there. They were wealthy enough. They had a track record in Canada. They got a spot on Saturday night live. Went to Woodstock 99. All the border americans got to hear them. And they couldn't muster one hit song.

  10. Let's use Australia as an example here. An artist that is beloved there that doesn't even have big hit songs but found an audience worldwide. Nick Cave. The hip doesn't even have his level of recognition. So what's going on? Is the rest of the world stupid and we are geniuses or something?

  11. There are some alright artists known only in Canada but I can't say there are any that I am baffled that they didn't get famous abroad. There are some shitty famous ones and some decent non famous ones but the world isn't missing out too badly.

  13.  @pnklilstratic6270  The key difference is that the two sequels you are talking about were sequels to good movies. One of those was to his own movie and the other was to a Ridley Scott film. Terminator and Alien were classics. Avatar is complete dogshit. So yeah he'll likely make a sequel worthy of Avatar meaning that this movie wil be dogshit as well.
