It's not great for increasing birthrate either because it still costs money and the mother is out working. Getting women out of the workplace is the real answer.

@ursodermatt8809 The people having more kids in the US are mainly a drain on society. The exception would be fundamentalist Christians and Amish. It's a worse demographic situation than Japan or Russia or whoever he likes to beat up on because at least in those countries they aren't breeding a bunch of hostile welfare recipients.

@zumurudlilit They might not like it but them working lowers the birthrate. It's just a fact. It makes life harder for everyone because you have double the workers. It means lower wages. It means more people living alone so more competition for dwellings. It's just facts and there's nothing a woman can do that a man can't do better aside from having kids. We've seen the results and it's not good for society.
