Produced the finest literature ever written. Many Empires have gone before, you will not see one so benign as the English. People today want to destroy history because they don’t know it, they haven’t lived it yet. Try living under the Russian or Chinese system and see how you fair. Ask Hong Kong how it fairs back under Chinese Rule. They taught each country how to govern, each leader takes that and applies it his way, so don’t blame the Monarchy for your troubles.
