Well a little late, but the Catholic Church has always been slow to apologize for it’s wrong doings around the world. According to the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Documents it was Genocide. So the Canadian Government got the Catholic Church to carry out its program on the Native problem

@lukei6255 Well the, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, have all been the top colonial powers to spread the word of civilized man through the world. It may not. Conform to your understanding of humanity, but that’s the way history evolved, you can’t change the facts. Don’t feel sorry for something way beyond your control. When are the Vikings, Romans , Normans , Saxons going to apologize to the Britons? After all they were the original teachers of the Britons.

It was a Marriage of confidence, the government wanted a resolution to the Native problem and who better to trust than the Catholic Church. The Spanish Conquistadors and the Church did the same in South America, they considered any other form of Religion as heathens.
