  1. Note what the Economist’s say. “a weaker Canadian dollar can help Canada’s exports become more competitive.” So trump feels he can put a 20% to 25% tariff on Canadian imports to level the playing field based on the exchange rate. Canadian dollar is 30% less than the US dollar.
