  7.  @elizabethmcleod246  It appears my simple off the cuff statement has created a little controversy. Let me fill in the real facts. In June 2022 my wife was complaining she had lost over 10 lbs in one week, and was concerned. I ran her down to our clinic where a Nurse Practitioner is her doctor , she told my wife her weight loss was in her imagination, and to eat more. Late August 2022 my wife had lost another 10 lbs and was coughing blood in the morning. I took her to emergency In Kamloops Hospital. After Chest X Rays, the Female Doctor, said she is calling down a Specialist, who is just finishing up on an Operation. After he looked at the XRays he said my wife seems to have Lung Cancer, he wanted a biopsy, and he wanted a Brain Scan. The Bad news was after the specialist in Kamloops and Kelowna for the Brain Scan she was diagnosed with Lung and Brain Cancer. Both specialist asked me why had this been left so long, I said ask the Nurse Practitioner, she said it was in my Wife’s imagination. She didn’t start Chemotherapy on her lung and Brain till March , April, May ,June 2023 the Chemotherapy Doctors said there was nothing more they could do and were stopping treatment. We got her into a Hospice in Chilliwack so we could be close to my son, she died on 21 Aug 2023. All because a Nurse Practitioner refused to refer my wife to a Specialist. The Chemotherapy specialist both said this treatment should have started 9 months earlier. So always get a second opinion if it’s urgent.
