A little history, The indigenous people of Canada were the original Natives before the white settlers Came, aka the French and the English, who Carved Canada up, regardless of which Natives owned the Land.
Before you blame the English, let’s look at the Indigenous people of Ancient Britains.
These Tribes all existed before the Vikings and the Romans invade Britain and took over their lands, so it’s not unique to Native indigenous people of Canada.
Native Tribes of Britain
The British Isles
This map shows the approximate location of the major tribes who lived in Britain at the time of the Roman Conquest of Britain in the First Century AD. The sole source for the existence and location of these tribes are Roman writers who visited Britain.
One of the best observers of the tribes of Celtic Britain was Tacitus who wrote on historical events in Britain. Another was a Roman geographer called Ptolemy who wrote a description of Britain, listing the names of the many British tribes.

These Tribes existed pre 6000 BC.
So as the Ancient Britains got smarter, they became explorers and great seafarers, explore the rest the world, and the rest is history. The British Empire became very large.
So the Vikings and The Romans must of taught the Ancient Britons something, they got smarter.
The Native Tribes of Canada seemed to only exist within Canada and not so much exploring around the world.
My Ancestors were Vikings and Scottish .
