@joshtherahrah is the emphasis on "my", she said it with a matter of fact, not saying that's wrong, burning the context she wants another caretaker. I would use a softer "my" or say something like, I would like a partner for our future. I wouldn't make it only about the kid, for one. I think having a partner would benefit both, and i would use that when talking about it. Not our kid, but our future, obviously the kid is there. But it's more than that.
