  7. It's pretty safe (assuming no amount of radiation is good, it's not too healthy either). Yes, they scan you, so you don't leave with some pieces of radioactive dust on your clothes or stole something radioactive from the the zone.

  9.  @MrVolodus  yes, and natural potassium in the body is a bit radioactive too. Everything is radioactive to a small degree. But our bodies can deal with background stuff quite successfully, and even with bananas too. Still doesn't make it good.
