Zelenskiy speaks flawless Ukrainian, stop spreading myths.

@pragmapoint7951 well, he did. He always knew it. But majority of his life he spoke russian, which isn't something strange since he is from Kryvyi Rih. So he just needed practice.
7
As another Ukrainian, I'm infuriated with his approach. It objectively lacks integrity too.

@RTL2L Ukraine never banned russian. On the opposite, russia as in russian empire and the soviet union bannded, restricted and persecuted Ukrainian language, identity, culture a lot, they've released over 120 laws restricting Ukrainian language in the time, just look on the likes of Valuev Circular and Ems Ukaz.

@AaSs-ln9mm Novgorod was their own separate thing (with their unique dialect that is now gone, could've been a different language give it time) until it was conquered by a russian state (moscow tsardom). Russia proper didn't existed at that time. Kyiv (that's the original spelling btw) existed long before Novgorod was established around 930s or a little bit later. No, those vikings didn't came from Novgorod. "Primary Chronicle" isn't reliable in that thing since it's not backed by any outside source nor by archeological data.
4
@manichaean1888 there were no russians at that time*

Поэтому в Украинском больше слов, больше синонимов, оборотов, падежей и легче выражать мысли. Кто тебя, Ищенко, опустил до твоего нынешнего уровня? Почему вы так легко поддаетесь пропаганде и фашистским мифам?

wrong

@pragmapoint7951 Kharkiv is one the most russianspeaking places in entire Ukraine even now. And you're talking about 80s, soviet era, what did you expect? I can tell you, it's not real life now, especially not applied to entirety of Ukraine.
3
Except that's not actually true
2
Not true
2
@shtein4476 again? Russian was never majority language in the region. You're lying for your purposes and making a spin on the news. Suppressed Ukrainian language, culture, the whole identity. Probably you should experience that with your language (russian?) if you so dismissive of the idea. Poor you.
2
@118Columbus nah, russia is 300 years as russia (and also the time they've ceased paying their sovereigns) and less than 1000 years total. Moscow's Inception is 1147, but they didn't had a state back then. And Rus isn't russia
2
@SnowLeopard-lt1vf you're so wrong there. I speak both on native level. And I know Zelenskiy personally. And I hear his Ukrainian skills very often these days. They are great. Take L and sit this one out.
2
It is an unprovoked invasion that has nothing to do with NATO.
2
russia is doing it right now full force
2
Not true, I'm Ukrainian and I speak russian without an accent and there wasn't any case where a russian detected that I'm Ukrainian until I've told them. That's not an isolated case either.
2
Wrong.
2
Dream on
2
@iXpertMan Ukrainian was supressed during the USSR era.
1
@kozzyrock5939 Ukrainian language has no rights in russia whatsoever and a good way to get you prosecuted. There are total 0 Ukrainian schools in russia. In annexed Crimea (russia have no rights to be there in the first place) they've instantly changed all Ukrainian texts to russian, also they've closed local crimean tatar TV channel, their "official" declarations mean nothing. They are destroying, burning Ukrainian books, schoolbooks in the occupied areas during this war. They aren't allowing anything Ukrainian, we have documented russian aggression towards other russians simply for blue and yellow combination in their clothes, shoes, bags etc.
1
That's the result of over 300 years of russification under russian empire and the ussr plus over 120 laws restricting and banning Ukrainian language in that timeframe
1
@shtein4476 what russians? There are Ukrainians in Ukrainian land who spoke Ukrainian in that time. Stop your propaganda.
1
@sguploads9601 I take you are a russian by your inability to understand local dynamics and also by your bastardisation of Kyiv and Lviv names
1
@врлввывп russian delusional propaganda that isn't based in lingustics or history. There was never a point in history when russian existed already and Ukrainian didn't
1
@meddoc2703 tsardom of moscow*
1
@Evergreen0021 не хрюкай
1
@BadgerMcblasty "ukrainians are nazis" IS a looney conspiracy. Spread by russia. And actually dramatically increased in 2014 upon their invasion in Ukraine, it was almost nonexistent before as far as internet goes.
1
@tatyanaishchenko3456 вы или откажетесь от российского и русского фашизма, шовинизма, империализма, ирредентизма и ксенофобии или они вас уничтожат. А Украинцы как были до того, как вы появились на свет, так и будут дальше.
1
@stephanswanepoel2448 "centuries" not even one you mean. Also, russians in Ukraine predominantly want Ukraine, not russia, telling you otherwise was a nice propaganda achievement from russia
1
Ukrainians speaking russian is the result of over 300 years of russification under russian empire and the ussr plus over 120 laws restricting and banning Ukrainian language in that timeframe. And yes, 99,9% Ukrainians understand russian and also a vast majority can speak it, even in Ukrainian is their first language. Doesn't work the other way around, russians can't speak Ukrainian and they have very limited ability to understand it.
1
@tatianalyulkin410 good, and I'm fluent in 5 languages total. So?
1
As Ukrainian, I'm sick to my stomach that many serbs are brainwashed by fascist russian propaganda.
1
@Gojimaru you're coping by denying reality
1
Ukrainian nation and ethnicity have existed before russian one did.
1
@alexnik1181 no. Russia comes from Principality of Moscow that later became Moscow Tsardom. Pre-modern russian identity is existing since it became russia, in 1721 with inception of russian empire. While Ukrainians come from Rus, before 9th century. Pre-modern odern Ukrainian identity is from 16 and 17 century, the later especially, you can read Bohdan Khmelnitskiy edicts to Ukrainian nation (sic), also in their state Army of Zaporizya they've used Ukraine and Rus and ukrainians and rusyns as close synonymous ethnonyms that are sometimes used interchangeably in historical documents.

You're not giving money. You're giving old weapons. Which benefits USA in multiple ways. Creating jobs, boosting military industrial complex, rearming, reducing stockpiles of old vehicles that are never going to be used by the US, but costs a lot to keep and even more to recycle (which is inevitable). All while dealing with a massive geopolitical opponent that wages war on America on more ways than you can imagine. Preventing WWIII all while not getting directly involved. Win-win-win. Don't let propaganda tell you otherwise.
1
@bostonweddingcars what yachts. Those pesky russian propaganda fake ones? Educate yourself, don't be that gullible. Ukraine would be destroyed by now if that BS you're repeating were true by the way.
1
@mr.goldfish7473 I'm blocked too despite I don't remember interacting with his account
1
@joemammon6149 cockaine nonsense is also a russian propaganda invention. You should quit that media that is lying to you.
