@americancommunist1776 it happened because of russian invasion in 2014. I'm a russian speaker from Donbas. Russian language was never banned. Zelenskiy was russianspeaking exclusively prior to his presidency.

@bravo6808 Russian invasion to Ukraine started with Crimea annexation and russian war in Donbas 9 years ago. In 2022 it is escalated to full-scale invasion, war with annexation attempts, another bigger stage of 2014 war without russia denying their participation (actually they still are and Lavrov got a few laughs at Delhi these days, google it). But it still was Ukraine - Russia war for 9 years.

And Ukrainian counteroffensive is yet to start, but it will. Last summer russians got rekt in Kharkiv, then Kherson at autumn.

@MatthewSmith-i9y old russian territory, really? It was never their territory nor history nor people. Crimean tatars lived there for centuries. Russia only conquered Crimea late in 18th century the first time, losing it again couple of times. Only after a few stages of population replacement it became "russian", very artificially and less than 100 years ago. And we know that since 1954 it's Ukraine.
