I have two vinyl LP records of electronic music by the same person, one from the 1970s by Walter Carlos and the other from the 1980s by Wendy Carlos. They have indeed been around for decades but no-one thought to make a song and dance about it. Does it bother people that he became a she, did her record sales falter in any way? No, they didn't. And why, because people already accepted that transitioning of transsexuals was something that happened to a small number of people. Wendy just got on with her life, her music defined her, not her sexuality or gender.
