It's gonna be insane if I heard him right. Between the lines I swear it sounds like he's going to strip the car to metal and clean ALL the dust out of EVERYTHING. And if anyone's had an old Lexus or Toyota product (I don't know if other cars did this) but the foam sticky padding turns to this tenacious sticky dust worse than if butyl tape had babies with anti-seize.

Weird having our usernames up now. Not sure if anyone would take my experience seriously now. But here goes. Sorry about the, "That's okay" stuff. I think it's less mocking rather than commiserating between guys, how we know some girlfriends and wives will say "Suuuuree, GO AHEAD!" because we know it's a trap and to do the opposite. As for the vehicle.. Would it detract any by going aftermarket on the head unit? Because for the DIY'er, people would want the new features and interface. Like Carplay, bluetooth, etc. Maybe you want the effect of the original screen on a million mile unit. I get that. How about a little cheating. Put the head unit in for now so you have a radio. When it hits a million, the old can go back in. That way in the meantime you can open the amp along with opening the lamp ECU together and do any resoldering or capacitor changing inside, or see if the conformal coating has been compromised and let the moisture and green crusties attack it.. just some thoughts to run by you. Might not be right but more heads are better than an echo chamber. Do what you want obviously.
