This is ahy i always tell people i or any good mechanic will not give you good adcice if youre looking for free and ESPECIALLY when they're not in the car experiencing the symptoms. I bet you anything if I were in there I'd glance over at the "Security" flasher I'd see it come back on at the wrong time and not turn off when it wouldn't start. I only figured this out after you said something interesting happened.. somewhere 1/3 of the way in. Id have thoughtbthat system was bad and never would have gone bacl to the ecu even thoigh most parts cannon bad people throw the ecu at it. Heres one thibg you just told us that you don't do. Disrespect the car. Because what i like to do is atart jiggling and lightly pounding in the engine bay near wires and then inside around the dash to figure it out. Maybe this is a technique of mine ypu might wantbto consider with these older cars. And we had a 98 ES!! And aeveral 96 camrys without the immobilizer though. Still. Amazing discovery. Congratulations. Only under your guidance was i ablebti find it out. You didn't tell us at the beginning. But you told pwople who ubderstoid this car and i liked that progression a lot. And this was after the initial guess you were leading me into about it possibly being an aftermarket (for me) thought of a crank sensor. Then the twist. Loved it.

Me too. I would push this heavy vehicle two miles to his shop if I had no other way. I do however. A Rav with a tow hitch and personally upgraded the alternator
