Beware of the clunking you mentioned to anyone in this situation. Shops might have a hard time figuring it out. The bad ones will parts cannon you stuff that costs the most. In our fleet we had a curb slide like this on a RAV, the other shop wanted to change the struts when it already was done right after since both were aftermarket and bent like a soda can. Yet that next shop tried to sell that. The dumb thing was he forgot it was done. Just looking for a large payday in selling unnecessary parts. The knuckle was bent much more than this and the owner was sold prior a control arm that did not fix the problem. Tie rod ends were hosed but unknown if that was from the curb or overdue. They wiggled like jello. Shops tried selling them mounts as well. Unfortunately they just gave up for now. Who knows, it could be an easy thing like a loose bolt in the arm or even just a loose rack and hopefully the gear in the steering motor isn't it.
