Well here's the problem with that. That's no towing. And what's towing basically but extra weight on an extension of the truck? Extreme service duty. Conditions vs actual clock. @AKhinch

They make all kinds of aftermarket parts for when extreme use cases require more than the engineers of an OE planned their vehicles to be capable of and built for. If they were overbuilt, and you really need more, then you need to go more robust. From the smallest incidentals such as brake pads, to big tickets like trans. I would search for a more robust system next 100k, perhaps a good name brand reman company, maybe Jasper or similar. And also fortify and upgrade components that caused that shudder problem. Maybe all they needed was a better converter. Maybe they need a better and more powerful trans cooler. Only they know the conditions on what they do to be causing this. There are many variables, but that's a good start than just replacing when it breaks.
