  1. 1:07:00 what is missing on this map are two pro and contra arguments; 1) contra; Rumenia offered peace (and reparations) and so the Soviets had to/and could move in QUICKLY to obtain this advantage. In Hungary, the same "peace" movement was rising, but there the nazis acted hard and swiftly.. ..so Rumenia was a ripe fruit that had to be taken, more than the "oil fields" (oil rigs constantly bombarded..and transport of oil per train to Germany was already impossible...so that is not a major argument). 2) pro. YOu are missing the MAIN railway lines. Warsaw is a HUB towards further moves into Germany. Exactly those railway lines make the germans push in reinforcements to the front so easily..and thus make it harder for the soviets to advance. Capturing Warsaw cuts off lines Warsaw to Krakow (south). Not sure about Warsaw to Prussia.

  2. 1:02:50 bad timing/planning of the polish govrnm in exile in Britain..yeah..but still, this is an HINDSIGHT opinion. End July 44 on BOTH fronts in France and in Ukraine it looked like the germans were in FAST retreat. Hence the adhoc marketgarden plan by normally careful Montgomery, and Hence the adhoc plan of a NOW OR NEVER uprising in Warsaw. Had the uprising been announced TOO LATE..then there would be NO (chance of a ) british/liberal Polish government in Poland !! If it were announced too early..then it would take ONLY another holding of a week or two more until the soviet military motor or that of Montgomery would move again INTO german Heimat lands.....Just look at the speed of allied advances !! Gung Ho ! Harrah!
