  2. at 19:00 yes please look into it. Because yes the USA does send tankers via convoys via iceland, british convoys , up to murmansk. And oil (but Persia fields did NOT yield (much) oil then!) came also via Persia up in russia, from Iraq fields (british controlled). But where the fall blau can only make a small dent in russian oil production (after attack and airbombardments, perhaps two months later, the damage is repaired), the german submarines DO take on mostly allied TANKERS on the convoys. Why ? because they are easy targets: SLOW moving...ONE hit = certain destruction...knowledge that oil is lifeblood of the enemy navy... And the German subs were LONGER successful than fall blau: up to mid 1943 ... So yeah, what 's up with the soviet ever increasing demand for oil/petrol and the obvious success in meeting this demand ??? Please do a study/topic !
